Black is the Color

Flow my tears

  1. To me, these Dowland pieces seem even more suited to Deller's artistry than the Purcell. The slow, long lines give his voice the freedom of even more phrasing and colors, especially when joined by a lute.

  2. I really liked the colors in Flow my Tears. His voice works really well with lute. This song felt comfortable in his voice. There were a couple of melismatic figures that were a little sloppy and I wish were cleaner, but other than that, I thought this was a beautifully sung piece.
